Today we want to share wonderful news. 202 LYOPLAS P BLOOD GROUP AB units have been purchased and delivered for the Hospitallers — that equals 202 lives saved! We are immensely grateful to David Gilmour and his wife Polly Samson for their generous contribution, as they fully funded the purchase of 202 freeze-dried plasma (FDP) containers for the Hospitallers. Plasma from AB donors is considered “universal plasma” because it lacks anti-A and anti-B antibodies, making it safe to transfuse to patients of any blood group in urgent situations. It’s a portable, long-shelf-life universal plasma that paramedics can use to save lives after severe blood loss. Even more lives will be saved thanks to this generous donation!
