“Avstriyka” evacuated more than 18,000 wounded
The evacuation bus “Avstriyka,” which has already evacuated more than 18,000 wounded people, is the final link in the evacuation chain before they receive specialized medical care.
The wounded understand that ahead of them lies a journey of surgeries, treatment, and possibly lengthy rehabilitation. They prepare themselves mentally and gather their strength.
The Hospitallers’ task is to monitor the wounded patients’ condition, maintain effective pain relief, and continue the infusion therapy initiated by the medical teams at the forward surgical teams (FSTs).
This is a long and demanding stage of evacuation that requires great attention and continuous support.
