Another aspect of the fierce war in Ukraine is the information war.
The other day, pro-Russian media published the news that 28-year-old American "mercenary" Rebekah Maciorowski died in Ukraine.
The fact is Rebekah is not a mercenary. She is a volunteer with 11 years of medical experience. Currently, Rebekah is in Ukraine as a member of the Hospitallers team. As a paramedic, she takes part in the evacuation of the wounded in the war zones.
Rebekah immediately denied the information about her death by posting a video and a series of tweets. She claimed that she was not a mercenary and had never served in the US military.
Here is what Rebekah wrote on Twitter: “Unsure what Russian propaganda machine decided to spread rumors of my death, but I am definitely alive and well.”
